This is not your standard screenplay contest... It’s the most exciting, refreshing and potentially rewarding contest we think you'll find, designed so that you can sell your screenplay as a paperback and as an e-book while you're participating.

 

Thousands of screenwriters have already taken part in this unique screenplay contest since it launched in early 2016, with many of them appearing on Amazon's best-sellers list for screenplays, including the coveted number one spot.

• As soon as you enter the contest, you will become an internationally published screenwriter with Dizzy Emu Publishing

 

• Your screenplay will be made available for sale internationally as a paperback on Amazon and as an e-book on Amazon Kindle

• All writers who enter the contest receive ALL of the royalties for their screenplay’s sales, paid directly to them by Amazon

 

• Writers retain ALL rights to their screenplay

 

• The entry fee includes Dizzy Emu creating all cover art for the paperback and e-book versions of your screenplay (you may also submit your own cover if you prefer)

 

• Just because the contest ends, the availability of your screenplay doesn't - it will stay published for as long as you want it to and you will remain the sole recipient of all of its sales royalties

 

 

HOW DOES THE CONTEST WORK?

All entrants are given full instructions on how to set up their publishing accounts prior to the go live date of the contest, enabling them to monitor sales, update their royalty payment information, order discounted paperback copies and make changes to their screenplay's listing on Amazon. Screenplays are made available for sale as a print-on-demand paperback and/or as an e-book on Amazon Kindle. All orders are fulfilled by Amazon.

The contest is open to screenplays and teleplays from all genres (comedy, fantasy, thrillers, horror, sci-fi, romance, westerns, etc). As long as it's a screenplay or teleplay - short or feature-length - then it is eligible for the contest.

Published screenplays are made available for sale, priced at $2.99 for the e-book version and $9.99 for the paperback version.

Your screenplay will be formatted for publishing as a paperback and/or e-book on Amazon, plus we'll design a cover based on your FilmFreeway page synopsis. As well as the formatting and cover work, we'll also add a copyright page for you. You retain all of the rights to your screenplay and you will receive all of the royalties directly from Amazon.

 

Prior to the launch date of the contest, you will be given full step-by-step instructions on how to set up your publishing account with Amazon. It takes five minutes and will enable you to select how you wish to receive your royalties.

Each writer who enters receives ALL of the royalties for their sales directly from Amazon - Dizzy Emu Publishing does not take a penny. To be clear, yes - ALL writers in the contest receive ALL of their royalties, not just the winners of the contest.

 

Contestants are allowed to market and promote their work in any way they see fit.

ROYALTY PAYMENTS

For e-book screenplay sales, writers receive approximately 70% of the sale price of $2.99.

 

For paperback screenplay sales, as a guide, a 100 page screenplay sold at $9.99 earns the screenwriter approximately $4.00. This is the list price minus the production costs and Amazon's commission.

CONTEST WINNERS

The overall contest winner is the writer of the top-selling screenplay in any given contest period. These writers receive a full Publishing & Marketing Package from Dizzy Emu Publishing, which includes building you a website and making a video trailer to help you promote your screenplay.

SUBMITTING YOUR SCREENPLAY

The entry fee starts at just $44.99 per screenplay. This includes cover design for your screenplay. You may submit as many screenplays as you like. There is no minimum or maximum page limit.
